FAQ

Tarsal brace questions

Which problems can a tarsal (hock) brace help with?

Achilles tendon injuries, paw knuckling, joint instability, arthritis, varus/valgus deformities, dysplasia, fractures, and support after surgery on the tarsus (the ankle).

How does a tarsal orthosis work?

It stabilises the ankle and controls unwanted motion. Its elastic joints have an adjustable range of motion, so movement can be limited as much as your dog’s condition requires. This reduces pain and supports healing.

Which version does my dog need: with paw or without?

Both versions have a PE-PP shell, elastic joints with adjustable range of motion, antibacterial EVA foam and pads. The version with paw adds a paw part; the non-paw version leaves the paw free. The choice depends on your dog’s condition and is made together with you and your veterinarian.
