Surgical Guides

At bio3Dtech we specialize in patient-specific surgical guides for complex orthopaedic cases. We use state-of-the-art CAD systems to make the angle calculations for the bones, performing a virtual simulation of the surgery. Through 3D-Printing technology we are able to create in a short time, high-precision surgical guides that are fully consistent with the patient’s anatomy and needs. Our guide systems are made of high-accuracy, biocompatible resins and can be sterilized using an autoclave at 121ยฐC / 250 ยฐF and at 134ยฐC / 273ยฐF.

Our experienced team works closely with the surgeon in order to design a guide system that fulfils their needs. Our big experience ensures a high-quality final result.

bio3Dtechโ€™s surgical guides main benefits:

  • Precision The surgical guides ensure that the final result will be according to the pre-operative planning.
  • Reduce risk The surgery is implemented according to the pre-operative planning that simulates every step.
  • Reduce time The surgical guides help shorten the surgical time.
  • Reduce surgeon risk The surgical process is first simulated in a digital environment.
  • Customization This is the key to success.
  • Minimal Invasiveness The surgeon achieves minimal invasiveness.
  • Quick rehabilitation Due to the minimal invasiveness the rehabilitation comes faster.

Veterinary Applications

Custom-made surgical guides have a wide application area. They help surgeons manipulate complex orthopedic cases. In collaboration with the pre-operative planning and the detailed patientโ€™s bones, they allow the surgeons to perform surgeries with safety and accuracy. Every step of the surgery is planned and simulated in advance, which reduces the risk of unpredictable complications.

A typical bio3Dtech guide system includes:

  • 3D-printed bones in their deformity situation (items are printed in non-biocompatible plastic)
  • 3D-printed bones in the corrected position (items are printed in non-biocompatible plastic)
  • 2x osteotomy guides (printed in biocompatible resin)
  • 2x stabilizer-reduction guide (printed in biocompatible resin)Note: all items can be printed in biocompatible resin although biocompatible resin is significantly more expensive.

Bone deformities

Distal Femoral Osteotomies , Antebrachial deformities, Complex Bone Deformities, Proximal Tibial Osteotomy, Fractures.

Spinal stabilization

Our team works closely with the surgeons in order to make optimized surgery planning for the customer’s needs. We use advanced CAD-CAM-CAE systems to improve the communication between engineers, veterinarians and customers.

At bio3Dtech, we say that โ€œthe key to success is the pre-operative planning!โ€.

Humeral Intracondylar Fissure (HIF/IOHC) – Transcondylar Screw

Humeral intracondylar fissure (also known as incomplete ossification of the humeral condyle) is a condition in which there is a weakness in the humeral condyle โ€“part of the elbow joint in the forelimb.

Sacral-iliac luxation

Sacroiliac luxation is defined asย traumatic separation of the iliac wing from the sacrum, without fracture of either structure.
